The Ruins in Talisay City

The Ruins in Talisay City was a mansion of Lacson family built in early 1920's in memory of  Maria Braga's untimely death. Maria Braga is Don Mariano Lacson's wife, she's a beautiful young Portuguese from Macau, but due to sudden twist of fate, Maria slipped in the bathroom when she was pregnant with their 10th child, causing her to bleed and die. During the second World War, the local guerillas burned this place to prevent the Japanese from occupying and making this as their headquarter. Because of the A-grade concrete and oversized steel bars as foundations of this home, it made some sizeable portion of the mansion possible to survive in succeeding generations.

This place has been informally nicknamed as the Taj Mahal of Negros. Whenever the sun touches the house, its  color changes from gray to amber which makes the place more picturesque. That's why it's always best to visit this site before sunset if you love taking landscape photographs. Though the sky was slightly dark when we visited because of the rain, we still get to capture photos out of its lavish pillars and beautiful structure.

The remains of this majestic mansion has gained attention all over the world. It has been acclaimed as one of the "12 Fascinating Ruins of the World" and the "Best Heritage Site awardee of the Philippines 2016".

Thanks to the local engineer Luis Puentevella who was entrusted by Don Mariano to take care of the specification of the house. Engr. Puentevella's son supervised the construction making sure that it will be finished with perfection. Well, it did, even beyond perfection I should say.

This place is perfect for prenuptial shoots and weddings. You can rent the whole place but you have to contact them for price inquiries because they prefer talking to clients personally, reach out to them HERE. They also have a souvenir shop inside, a garden cafĂ© and a mini entertainment section where you can sit and relax while sipping your favorite cappuccino.
